Thermal Storage
The HVAC&R Center was originally established in 1989 as the Thermal Storage Applications Research Center (TSARC), with a mission to provide electric utilities and their customers with research, technology transfer, and technical assistance in support of thermal storage technology.
Our scope has broadened considerably since then, but we still maintain extensive thermal storage expertise.
Our staff has actively participated in ASHRAE and EPRI thermal storage activities for many years, and we have been recently been assisting the International Energy Agency with their Annex 14 on thermal storage.
